SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games Torch Relay Arrives in Timor-Leste

TIMOR-LESTE: A 2023 SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games torch relay delegation, led by the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Tourism and Special Envoy of the Cambodian SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC), Hor Sarun, arrived safely in Dili, Timor-Leste on Monday morning, 3 April 2023.

The Cambodian delegation received a warm welcome from Timor-Leste National Olympic Committee President, Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, at Dili International Airport. The delegation then paid a courtesy visit to the President of Timor-Leste, José Ramos-Horta, in the afternoon.

Timor-Leste's official leg of the SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games torch relay will be held on Tuesday morning, 4 April, with the participation of many senior officials and leaders, including the country's President.

The torch relay has so far passed through Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia. After completing its leg in Timor-Leste, the torch will travel through more countries in Southeast Asia (Brunei, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar and Laos), before arriving back in Cambodia on 27 April 2023. Upon the torch's arrival in the Kingdom, it will pass around the Tonle Sap Lake before reaching the finish line at Morodok Techo National Stadium on 5 May 2023 for the opening ceremony of the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games.
